I was surprised to learn that Winston Churchill’s famous radio speech—you know: “We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets…”—well, it wasn’t actually spoken by Winston Churchill!
I know that sounds scandalous but it’s true. At least the radio version wasn’t. Churchill had actually given that speech at Parliament originally, and it was so powerful and moving that everyone urged him to give it again over the radio for all the world to hear. Read more…
Our preschool group is heading out for a fun educational field trip to “Pretend City Children’s Museum” on Tuesday, February 23 from 10 am until 2 pm. Cost is $5 for adults and kids ($2 for infants under 12 months), plus bring a sack lunch. Contact Sara Bell at sbella@cox.net to reserve your spots.
To allow for as many kids to go to camp as possible, Kay and Pat Thomsen are hosting yet another Yard Sale, with all proceeds going to support the Kids Winter Camp. The “Yard Sale-Part 2” will be on Saturday, February 20 starting early. They are already accepting donations.
